About Alabama Stonewall Democrats
Alabama Stonewall Democrats (ASD) is Alabama's largest lesbian and gay political club. Founded in 2005, we promote social change by electing fair-minded leaders.
We Elect Equality.
For nearly a decade, ASD has been the political voice of Alabama’s LGBT community. We have been building relationships with elected officials, endorsing and supporting LGBT and pro-equality candidates for public office, speaking out against bigotry and violence, fighting for marriage equality, advocating for the rights and services of people living with HIV and AIDS, lobbying elected officials for civil rights, registering voters, educating voters about LGBT issues and about candidates' positions, and building a coalition of LGBT, pro-equality, and progressive political allies.
Today, we have over 1,000 members, supporters and friends, in addition to a core of hard-working volunteers who keep ASD focused on the issues most important to the LGBT residents of Alabama.
